Mudra
The hand gestures used in Buddhist paintings represent a secret language of their own. Most Westerners don't realize that these hand gestures; called "mudras" each have a differrent meaning. Like sign language, the position of the fingers, even the way the hand is held, distinguish between the different concepts. In this painting, the mudra I used is one of blessings and protection.
